Maternity Clothes

I finally bought some maternity clothes this weekend, and I am asking myself, "Why, oh WHY didn't I buy these a month ago??" And I am totally over-riding my uncomfortableness with leggings because they are the MOST COMFORTABLE THINGS EVER (and totally derserve all caps). As long as I have a shirt on to cover my behind, I am so down with the leggings, even if I do still feel a little uncomfortable. I'm pregnant, I get to do what I want :) But seriously, I think I'm going to have a hard time giving up maternity jeans after I'm done being pregnant...they look totally like normal jeans, but surprise, they have a soft elastic waist instead of an uncomfortable one...and no more fumbling with a button and zipper! Think about those times when you really have to pee and just can't get your pants unbuttoned. Not a problem in these jeans!

I also got a few cute shirts, however I totally forgot to get what I really needed, work pants. Although I'll probably have to order them online anyway, since the maternity section at my Old Navy, which I'm lucky to have at all, is very, very small. At least I know what size to get.

Ghiradelli Double Chocolate Chip Brownies -- I made some of these for our weekend visitors, but since we had birthday cake, they didn't get eaten. They have to put crack or something in this brownie mix. It is by far one of the greatest foods ever. Let's not talk about how much of the pan I have eaten on my own in the last two days. And I can't even really blame pregnancy because I've eaten this many of them before while not pregnant. On a side note, brownies make an excellent breakfast.
Hazelnut Hot Chocolate from Starbucks -- I'm not a coffee drinker at all, but I seriously love my hazelnut hot chocolate, especially since there is a Starbucks right in the building I work in (not so good for my wallet, though). I just tell myself it's a good serving of calcium that the little guy's bones need right now. And the chocolate is for me :)
Etsy -- I have long harbored love for Etsy. If you've never been there, I demand you go right now www.etsy.com. You can waste hours and hours looking at thing there, and probably spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars if you let yourself. I got a ton of stuff for the wedding on there (my cute flower hairpins, my earrings, the bridesmaid jewelry). Now I am on the hunt for the cutest baby stuff I can find. Hours wasted.
Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall -- This book is about a girl who was a member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (or FLDS -- this is the church you may seen in the news whose leader is Warren Jeffs, the man just sentenced to life in prison). It is a memoir detailing her being forced into marriage at 14 to her first cousin, her horrible conditions living with him (he continuously forced himself on her and mentally and physically abused her), and Warren Jeffs' refusal to do anything to help her. It also follows the trial she was involved in after escaping from the FLDS in which she charges Warren as an accomplice to rape and forcing an underaged marriage. While horrifying at times, this book shows the strength of conviction of one girl and her refusal to believe that God would put her in such a situation. She shows bravery in a culture where women are not permitted to speak their minds or stand up for themselves, something I'm not sure I would have been able to do if I were in her shoes. Read this book! And while you're at it, read Escape and Triumph by Carolyn Jessop, another women who escaped the FLDS, but she brought her 8 children with her.
The Hunger Games Series -- So I'm reading these for the second time around (which will most likely be one of many re-reads -- at least I get my money's worth out of my books). I almost forgot how gripping this book is. Right from the beginning, you are sucked in. It will make you laugh, cry, and break your heart. If you haven't already read these, I highly recommend you do.
Dear Photograph Blog -- this blog is fantastic (found at http://dearphotograph.com/ ). People take an old picture, hold it up in the place it was taken, but in the present. It's like the past leaps out at you. Some are funny, some are sad, and some just make you smile. I check this every morning when I get in. I keep looking for a good picture so I can submit one myself.
Easy A -- just watched this movie without high hopes -- it was hilarious! There are some great one liners, I highly recommend **disclaimer** I am not the best movie critic...I tend to like most movies I watch
